National Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Week 4: Cyber Crime
It is week 4 of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has chosen to focus on the problem of Cyber Crime.
“Many of the crimes affecting individuals—including credit card fraud, sexual harassment, and identity theft—are increasingly conducted, or at least, facilitated through the Internet. As technology advances, new avenues open up for cyber crimes and our responsibilities online must evolve to keep up. During National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2013, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its partners from the public and private sector are highlighting the importance of protecting against cyber crime.”– DHS Website
